Must-Have Free Apps for Working Parents

It is so difficult to make time for everything. The standard day for a working parent is getting up early to ensure the kids are ready for school, when that’s all done they have to spend a long day at work, and then it’s time to go home and sort the million other tasks that need to get done. This means that there is very little opportunity to relax during the whole day. This infographic from HappyCleans takes you through some apps that may be able to assist you. They’re all free and they may help you to save some time during your day.

For example, there’s a great app called Chorma where family members can claim chores. It isn’t quite as boring as that though as every family member earns points for the amount of tasks they do. You’d be surprised how much more housecleaning the kids get done when it’s a competition. Of course, we need to be realistic here, but even if the kids did 30 minutes housework a day, this might leave you some time to relax in the evenings. Even having one hour for some time to yourself will make such a difference.

Even when you’re going on the family holiday, it isn’t without its stress – rest easy though as there are also some apps that can help you. For example, TripCase lets you consolidate all of your travel information in a dedicated email account. When you finally arrive at your destination, why not check out the Playground Buddy app to find the nearly playgrounds in your area.

Of course, another issue working parents face is finding enough time to spend with their kids. They’re just so busy that it can be hard to get the time just to embrace those special moments as kids grow up. Apps like Path help you to stay connected with the kids while on the go as it is essentially a micro-sized version of Facebook for just the family. Why not add the whole family to it and send a few catch up messages on your lunch break or whenever you get a few moments at work. Another app that can help you embrace those special moments is Keepy, as it’s a storage area for all that amazing artwork that kids have so much fun doing. You can upload them all to the app so they’ll last forever.

Another issue many families face is with budgeting and the Mint app will help to address some of those issues. It can be so easy to let expenses get out of hand as having kids is just so costly. Sometimes you can be short of money without even realising it and face a tough end to the month before payday. This app makes it easier to keep track of all your accounts, expenditures, and bills in one place and you can adjust spending as required. It even gives you recommendations that you may not have thought of before.

Why not download a few of them to see if they’re of any use? If they’re not all you have to do is hit that uninstall button. Enjoy!
